How toEnrol

Step by StepEnrolment Guide

Thank you for your interest in enrolling your child at our school. At St Joseph’s School we offer quality, affordable education from the Early Years through to Year 12 plus Boarding placements from Year 7-12.

Step 1: Discover More about St Joseph’s School

An important part of the enrolment process is to find out more information. Download a Prospectus which contains detailed information about St Joseph’s School, Book a Tour or view our Enrolment FAQs for further information.

Step 2: Complete an Enrolment Application

  • The enrolment application should be completed at least a year in advance of the commencement year with all relevant documentation attached.
:
Documentation required to support enrolment application

  • Copy of applicant’s Birth Certificate
  • Sacramental Certificates (if applicable)
  • Copy of two most recent School reports
  • Copy of most recent NAPLAN report
  • Reports and/or assessments related to your child’s needs
  • Information about any special health, personal care requirements, or agency support
  • Copy of Passport and Visa (students not born in Australia)

  • Once the completed Enrolment Application is received and acknowledged, you will be contacted for an interview.

In determining enrolment places at St Joseph’s School, the Principal considers each situation on its own merits but attempts to fulfil the mission of the Catholic School as an instrument of the Catholic Church and the vision of Catholic Education in the Diocese of Port Pirie.

:
Applications for enrolment will be considered using the following criteria

  • Students who share the Catholic faith tradition through their acceptance of the Sacraments of Initiation in the Catholic tradition.
  • Students who have another sibling already enrolled at St Joseph’s School and whose family show active commitment to the St Joseph’s School Community.
  • Students who are, or whose family are actively involved in the Church life of other Christian religions.
  • Children of past students of St Joseph’s School, who have maintained a commitment to the school or parish community.
  • Students, whose parents share the school’s educational vision and desire such educational outcomes for their children.
  • Consideration is also given to the length of time families have had their application for enrolment lodged. The length of time from lodgement of application does not, however, guarantee a position.

Step 3: Offer of Enrolment

  • Formal offers by the Principal will be made in writing within 4-6 weeks after their interview.
  • Families will be asked to complete a detailed Enrolment Contract with up-to-date student details and payment of an acceptance fee.
  • On completion of the Enrolment Contract and payment of the acceptance fee, your child’s enrolment at St Joseph’s School is secured.
