Why St Joseph's School?
:

St Joseph's is a nurturing Catholic school, living the Josephite tradition of justice, compassion and hospitality, igniting a love of learning. With a proud history spanning 130 years in Port Lincoln, we are dedicated to providing excellent education. Our students are supported to excel and become confident, respectful contributors to our global society. How old does my child have to be to start school?
:
In South Australia, most children start school the year they turn 5 or 6 years old. When your child is eligible to begin school will depend on their date of birth, and whether you're applying to public or private school.

Does St Joseph’s School offer mid-year reception intake?
:

St Joseph’ School offers mid-year Reception intake to suit all birth dates. At St Joseph’s School we believe in working with our families to provide students with a smooth transition into school when they are ready to do so. As a guide, students who turn five years of age between 1 October and 30 April in the following year may commence Reception in Term 1. Students who turn five years of age between 1 May and 30 September may commence Reception in Term 3.

How are students prioritised for entry?
:
In determining enrolment places at St Joseph’s School, the Principal considers each situation on its own merits but attempts to fulfil the mission of the Catholic School as an instrument of the Catholic Church and the vision of Catholic Education in the Diocese of Port Pirie.

In this way invitation to enrol at St Joseph’s School is extended to:

  • Students who share the Catholic faith tradition through their acceptance of the Sacraments of Initiation in the Catholic tradition.
  • Students who have another sibling already enrolled at St Joseph’s School and whose family show active commitment to the St Joseph’s School Community.
  • Students who are, or whose family are actively involved in the Church life of other Christian religions.
  • Children of past students of St Joseph’s School, who have maintained a commitment to the school or parish community.
  • Students, whose parents share the school’s educational vision and desire such educational outcomes for their children.
  • Consideration is also given to the length of time families have had their application for enrolment lodged. The length of time from lodgement of application does not, however, guarantee a position.

What documents are required for my child's application to St Joseph’s School?
:

All families are requested to supply the following documentation with their Application Form:
