Year 7 - 9Curriculum

We provide a dynamic and challenging Middle Years program for students, which focuses on academic excellence, personal growth, and spiritual development to prepare our students for the next stage of their education.

The Years 7, 8 and 9 Curriculum at St Joseph’s School is designed around the Australian Curriculum. It allows students to explore a range of subjects and specialisation areas. It is a holistic approach to learning, encompassing the Australian Curriculum General Capabilities to ensure all students are capable learners and leaders for the world.

The subject selection allows students to discover the excitement of all learning areas before they move forward into their senior years of schooling, where they begin to follow their pathway into their areas of passion.

Year 10 - 12Curriculum

We offer a rigorous and supportive learning environment that empowers students to excel academically, develop critical thinking skills, and grow spiritually, as they prepare to become confident and responsible adults.

To meet the educational needs of all students in Years 10 to 12, we are committed to providing a broad and meaningful curriculum, designed to promote the education of the whole person, enabling the spiritual, intellectual, cultural, physical and social development of emerging adults, prepared to make positive contributions to their community. Our aim is to support and develop thriving people, capable learners and leaders for the world.

St Joseph’s School offers a broad range of subjects to cater for a wide range of student interests and pathways. In addition to the subjects offered at school, a range of Vocational Education and Training Certificate courses are also available through TAFE and Registered Training Organisations (RTOs). Students wishing to incorporate VET courses into their SACE pathway should discuss this with the VET and Flexible Learning Coordinator during the subject counselling process.

We encourage students to consider subject selections guided by their interests, their proven capabilities and strengths and understanding of the commitments and assessment methods involved. If in any year we have small numbers of students in Year 11 and/or 12 select a subject, there is potential that this subject would then run as a Year 11/12 composite class, offsite at another school (Year 12 only) or not run at all. When this occurs, students will be re-counselled appropriate to their situation.
