Giving BackGrowing Together
St Joseph’s School relies on the generosity and contribution of parents; caregivers and volunteers in a myriad of ways to provide quality education for students attending our school.
Our School’s Volunteer Network
At St Joseph’s School, we strongly believe in the power of parent involvement and volunteering to enhance the educational experience for our students. Parents have the opportunity to actively participate in our school community through various avenues, including accompanying students on school excursions, supporting our Learning Assistance Program (LAP), assisting with morning reading activities, serving as classroom representatives, lending a hand during school events, and engaging in numerous other ways.
The dedication and support of our parent volunteers make a significant impact on student success and the overall sense of belonging within our school. We are immensely grateful for the valuable contributions of our parents, as their involvement strengthens our collaborative efforts in creating an enriching and inclusive educational environment at St Joseph’s School.
General Information About Volunteering
As directed by Catholic Education South Australia (CESA), it is policy and practice to ensure that all individuals who have a responsibility through their role as a volunteer within the school environment, undergo a Child Related Employment Screening – Working with Children Check (WWCC). Through the Catholic Education ‘Screening and Verification Authority’ unit and also the Department of Human Services (DHS), an assessment is made as to a person’s suitability for volunteering. Upon completion of processing, individuals will be provided with notification of their application status. There is no cost to individuals who submit their applications through the school.
If you wish to volunteer your services to the school you will also be required to provide a Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care (RRHAN) Certificate. If you have any queries, please phone (08) 8683 2400, or you may complete the enquiry form provided.
